ATS Commemorates World TB Day 2014
March 24, 2014
This month the ATS joins the global public health and research communities to commemorate World TB Day, March 24, 2014. World TB Day commemorates the date in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced his discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that cause tuberculosis (TB). While we celebrates Dr. Koch’s groundbreaking contribution, the ATS will use World TB Day to bring attention to the need for increased resources to eliminate TB in the U.S. and globally. The theme for World TB Day is “Find TB. Treat TB. Working Together to Eliminate TB."
