EOH Mentorship Program

Goals

1. Support junior faculty and trainees through individualized mentorship.

2. Increase junior faculty and trainee participation in the EOH Assembly.

Expectations for Mentors

1. Introduce yourself and start a dialog with assigned mentee via phone, email or social networking media.

2. Email CV to mentee.

3. Identify goals for relationship.*

4. Arrange at least one face-to-face meeting, if possible (e.g. annual ATS conference).

5. Stay in touch with mentee periodically throughout the year via phone, email or social networking media.

Expectations for Mentees

1. Email CV to mentor.

2. Share short and long-term goals with mentor.

3. Be specific about expectations for relationship.

4. Be proactive about communication, while being considerate of your mentor's time.

*Note: Because every mentor-mentee pair is unique based on each person's experience, personality and professional development track, it might be helpful to suggest a trial period in which both parties can assess whether the mentoring relationship is working.
