International Founders’ Hall of Pediatric Pulmonology, Neonatal Pulmonary Medicine, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatric Sleep Medicine
In 2010 the Scientific Assembly on Pediatrics of the American Thoracic Society established the Pediatric Founder’s Award to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of pediatric pulmonology, pediatric critical care, neonatal pulmonary disease, or pediatric sleep medicine. Honorees are nominated by ATS members and recognized by dedications at the ATS annual conference Pediatric Year in Review and at the annual Pediatric Assembly Founder’s Award dinner for their contributions in the areas of training, education, research, and innovations in patient care.
This site is provided for brief biographies/photographs and tributes to individuals who have received the Pediatric Founder’s Award and others who have made significant contributions to the foundations of pediatric pulmonology, neonatal pulmonary disease, critical care, or sleep medicine. Dedications and remembrances from the Pediatric Founder’s Award dinner and Pediatric Year in Review will be placed on the website with the permission of the authors. Other individuals for inclusion in the International Founder’s Hall website may be nominated by any member of ATS, who will agree to write a brief biography of the individual summarizing their contributions and ask other members of ATS to add remembrances, anecdotes, tributes and historically significant photographs for posting on this site. Individuals nominated for inclusion in the International Founder’s Hall website must be approved by a group that includes the chair and chair elect of the Pediatric Assembly, Pediatric Assembly Planning Committee chair, Pediatric Assembly website editor, and ATS website editor.
