ATS Forums

Welcome to the American Thoracic Society Website Forums!

On behalf of the Website Editorial Board, I invite you to participate in discussions in any aspect of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine and science. In addition, our CareerTalk section allows readers to give advice or comment about career decisions.

Our goal is to make these Forums a dynamic way to interact with others who share your interests in the clinical and scientific topics of interest to members of the American Thoracic Society. Whether you are a seasoned scientist or clinician, a specialist-in-training, a patient or family member, or just someone with a general interest in respiratory, critical care or sleep medicine, we hope you will find these Forums to be a useful way to exchange ideas or share your thoughts. To make these Forums as dynamic as possible, ANYBODY can contribute by posting comments or even starting a new topic.

We hope that these Forums will provide for open interactions, but we reserve the right to modify or delete comments or topics that are deemed inappropriate or not in line with the mission of the American Thoracic Society (please see the terms of use HERE.)

Please note that the discussions on these Forums DO NOT CONSTITUTE MEDICAL ADVICE THAT SHOULD BE USED IN THE CARE OF INDIVIDUAL PATIENTS.  All decisions regarding the care of an individual should be discussed thoroughly with a health care professional.  Likewise, any comments posted on these Forums reflect the opinions of the author of those comments, and not those of that individual’s institution, the American Thoracic Society or any of its affiliates.

I welcome your opinions on these Forums, so please send your comments and ideas for improvement to me at dkaufman@thoracic.org
