Duplicate Publication
The Editors and Publisher of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM), the American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology (AJRCMB), and the Proceedings of the American Thoracic Society (PATS) are writing to our members, authors, and readers to state the journals’ duplicate publishing policy.
The American Thoracic Society (ATS) journals do not publish contributions that contain a significant portion of material that has been published or submitted for publication elsewhere, with the exception of abstracts containing no more than 400 words.
After publication of original material in an ATS journal in print or online, it is unacceptable to subsequently publish any part of the same material in another journal without the written permission of the ATS. Please contact permissions@thoracic.org for more information.
If concerns exist, the Editors of the Journals reserve the right to determine what constitutes significant duplicate publication. Please refer to the journals’ instructions for authors, which can be found at http://www.thoracic.org/journals/ajrccm/instructions-for-contributors.php; http://www.thoracic.org/journals/ajrcmb/instructions-for-contributors.php; and http://www.thoracic.org/journals/pats/instructions-for-contributors.php.
