Feinstein MB, Mokhtari M, Ferreiro R, et al. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy in allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. Chest 2001;120:1094-1100. Case series of 61 patients undergoing 76 bronchs in the late 1990s found FOB was diagnostic in 42% of patients and directly changed management in 32% of patients. Infection was the most common diagnosis (42% of patients) followed by diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (8% of bronchs).
