Pulmonary Artery Catheter PrimerThe Critical Care Assembly is pleased to present the Pulmonary Artery Catheter Primer. This outstanding educational program represents the response of the Critical Care Assembly's Right Heart Catheter Education Taskforce to the challenge of developing high-quality educational materials concerning cognitive and procedural aspects of pulmonary artery (right heart) catheterization in the critically ill. As such, it is designed to improve the accuracy of bedside interpretation of data derived from the pulmonary artery catheter (PAC), by enhancing the clinician's knowledge of applied cardiopulmonary physiology as it relates to this important diagnostic tool. This comprehensive program consists of clinically-oriented questions and detailed answers compiled by an international panel of outstanding physicians, comprised by Drs. Jacob I. Sznajder (Chair), Martin Tobin, Jean-Francois Dhainaut, Henry Fessler, James Leatherman, John Marini, Gregory Schmidt, Timothy Evans, Jesse Hall, Sheldon Magder, and Michael Matthay. Questions are posted along with answers. Please email cc@thoracic.org with any questions. | |||||||||
