ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR)
The Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR) provides the American
Thoracic Society (ATS) with a patient perspective on pulmonary and
critical care medicine. PAR is working closely with ATS on patient
care, patient rights, patient education, advocacy and
research/research funding. The first meeting was held March 9,
2001, in conjunction with the ATS board meeting in San Francisco.
The group adopted the following mission statement:
The ATS Public Advisory Roundtable serves as the
bridge between the American Thoracic Society and organizations
representing individuals affected by lung disease and breathing
disorders by stimulating collaboration in research, education,
patient care and advocacy.
