Sept. 1, 2021 -- The ATS Research Program and ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR) have awarded Brian E. Cade, PhD, MS, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital a $40,000 Partner Grant. The ATS Research Program Partner Grants provide crucial support to talented investigators from around the world, launching careers dedicated to scientific discovery and better patient care.
For Dr. Cade, the grant will help support his research project, “Pulmonary disease contributions to COVID-19 morbidity and mortality.”
"The ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (ATS-PAR) Partner Grant program offers an amazing opportunity for advocacy groups to partner with pulmonary professionals and scientists to accelerate high-quality research with the support and expertise of the ATS,” said Michele Manion, ATS PAR chair. “This program, which is unique to ATS, is a 'win-win' for patients and for ATS membership, as it provides benefits for both while also supporting the core mission of the ATS to better understand and find effective therapies for those who struggle with pulmonary, critical care, and sleep disorders."
"The ATS Research Program supports young investigators at such a critical stage, knowing what their work has the potential to do for patients, treatment and care, throughout their career,” said Karen M. Ridge, PhD, chair of the Scientific Grant Review Committee. “This grant is particularly exciting as it’s the first grant in partnership with PAR, a unique aspect of the ATS that centers on patients, allowing us to invest in our researchers and our patients at the same time.”
The application process for the next cycle of grant opportunities is now open. Visit the ATS Research Program website to learn more.
