Goal:
To establish within ATS a collaborative, interdisciplinary group of critical care experts with a multipronged focus on improving the health of older adults with critical illness.
Objectives:

To identify and develop patient-centered, geriatric and critical care medicine research priorities across the spectrum of critical illness and recovery.

To increase awareness of important clinical care issues faced by older adults with a critical illness, such as frailty, multiple chronic conditions, altered pharmacokinetics in aging, delirium, and disability.

To enhance the integration of principles of geriatrics and gerontology into critical care medicine training and professional development.
