Congratulations to this month’s Clinical Problems Assembly member Dr. Lida P. Hariri for receiving the 2019 ATS Early Career Achievement Award!

Her primary research focuses on developing and translating low-risk, minimally-invasive endobronchial optical coherence tomography for microscopic assessment and diagnosis of UIP/IPF and lung cancer without surgery or tissue removal.  She has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and was invited to speak at the 2016 World Medical Innovations Forum about her research.  Dr. Hariri has also made significant contributions to the Clinical Problems Early Career Workgroup and is now Co-Chair of this Workgroup.  She is also Vice-Chair of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) In Vivo Microscopy (IVM) Committee, whose mission is to translate high-resolution imaging as a form of IVM into the practice of pathology and clinical medicine.  In her free time, Dr. Hariri enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and practicing yoga. We thank Dr. Hariri for her contributions and congratulate her for receiving the well-deserved Early Career Achievement Award!
