Cystic Fibrosis Week

Welcome Message

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting more than 70,000 people worldwide with approximately 1000 new cases of cystic fibrosis diagnosed each year.  Due to the tremendous advances in CF care, currently more than half of patients living with cystic fibrosis are 18 years of age or older  Significant advances in research for cystic fibrosis therapies has resulted in a great improvement in the quality of life for patients living with the disease.   These developments have been the result of great collaborations with clinicians, researchers, patients and families.  Clearly, patients with CF continue to have many challenges and the work is not yet completed.  Therefore, we hope to encourage further partnerships to improve clinical care and to develop new and innovative therapies for these patients.  Please participate in Cystic Fibrosis Week at the ATS to learn more about this disease and the exciting directions for the future.
