ATS Pediatric Pulmonary Reading List

Reading List

Mission Statement

The mission of the ATS training committee's pediatric pulmonary training list is to provide pediatric pulmonary trainees and pediatric residents with a list of peer-reviewed articles that cover key and high-yield topics in the field of pediatric pulmonology that are up to date, comprehensive and pertinent to the practice of pediatric pulmonology.

Goals

  1. To provide a list of noteworthy and relevant pediatric pulmonary publications that will enhance the clinical care provided by trainees.
  2. To provide a central location for pediatric pulmonary articles for the incoming and established pediatric pulmonary fellow.
  3. To provide a repository for recent publications, guidelines, and sentinel articles surrounding key topics of pediatric pulmonary medicine.
  4. To highlight areas of health disparities in pediatric pulmonary medicine as a basis for awareness and improvement as a pediatric pulmonary society.

Annual maintenance of the pediatric reading list

To collaborate with an expert panel of pediatric pulmonologists and a reading list subcommittee in the pediatric assembly:

Role of the expert panel and subcommittee: To update the ATS Pediatric Reading list annually with:

  • Clinical studies that are shaping the debate over the current standard of care.
  • Landmark articles of historical significance.
  • A select number of highly influential practice guidelines.
  • Articles highlighting health disparities in pediatric pulmonary practice.
