Protecting the health of the nation and the world requires investments in a strong public health system. Our public health system must track disease trends, detect patterns of disease, respond to emerging threats and respond in time of public health crisis. Additionally, we must monitor and reduce the known environmental threats in our society. The ATS advocates Washington D.C. to secure appropriate funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration to protect public health.
