In this latest podcast, Dr. Sarah Roark, faculty member in the division of pulmonary and critical care as well as medical director of pulmonary rehabilitation at Denver Health in Denver, Colorado, interviews Dr. Akshay Sood, Professor of medicine at the University of New Mexico in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine and Chair of the Miners Colfax Medical Center  in mining related lung disease as well as medical director for Miners Wellness tele-ECHO clinic. Dr. Sood was chairperson of the Task Force which held a scientific workshop in 2015 in Denver, Colorado to discuss household air pollution. He is the first author of the ERS/ATS workshop report on respiratory health effects of household air pollution published in the ERJ in 2018 ( Sood, A, Assa NA, Barnes PJ, et al. ERS/ATS workshop report on respiratory health effects of household air pollution. Eur Respir J 2018;51:1700698).  In addition to the main points of the article, the conversation explores health equality, risk factors and forward directions for patients and research.
