Jill Ohar

Congratulations to this month’s Clinical Problems Assembly member Dr. Jill Ohar for receiving the 2019 Sreedhar Nair Lifetime Achievement Award in COPD!

Dr. Ohar is a Professor of Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Ohar has made outstanding contributions to advance the science of COPD throughout her career. Her research in COPD and asbestos related diseases has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. She is the founding member of the North Carolina chapter of the American Thoracic Society. Dr. Ohar has also consistently been listed as one of “The Best Doctors in America” since 1994. In her free time, Dr. Ohar enjoys gardening, swimming, running, and kayaking. She lives with her partner in North Carolina and spends time with her 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 4 grand dogs! We thank Dr. Ohar for her contributions and congratulate her for receiving the well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award in COPD!
