As part of the “Lung Disease Week at the ATS” program, and in conjunction with ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR) partnered with the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, the American Thoracic Society presents a live patient education webinar was on Wednesday October 4th at 1 pm – 2 pm ET. The topic of the webinar was “Getting Patients Involved in Clinical Trials” and the featured panelists were Dan Grinnan, MD, Director of the Comprehensive Care Center for Pulmonary Hypertension at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. And Murali Ramaswamy, MD, Director, Interstitial Lung Disease Program, Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine Staff Physician at LeBauer Health Care at Cone Health in Greensboro, NC.


Other discussants were Matt J. Granato, LL.M., MBA, President & CEO, The Pulmonary Hypertension Association, and Jennifer Mefford, Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation–both are current members of the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR). The overall discussion was about the role of clinical trials in therapeutic development, considerations for participating, and what to expect once you are enrolled in a trial.
