The Pediatric Assembly is pleased to announce their Townhall Meeting on Emerging Pediatric Infectious Diseases.  This session will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2022 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. EST.  The session will be moderated by Jane Taylor, MD, MsCR from UPMC-Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Adrian O’Hagan, MD from the University of Louisville Norton Children’s Hospital, and Amy Filbrun, MD from the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Ann Arbor.

This Townhall will cover topics including:

  • Review of clinical presentation and current prevalence data for TB, Monkeypox, Polio and Measles
  • Clinical considerations when dealing with a suspected case in clinic
  • Administrative concerns regarding the spread and changing prevalence patterns of infectious diseases in North/South America

There will be power point presentations on the 3 topics which will be followed by a Q/A session with our panelists afterwards:

  • Kristina Bryant, MD: Professor of Pediatrics, University of Louisville School of Medicine. Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Hospital Epidemiologist for Norton Children’s Hospital and Norton Healthcare.
  • Katherine Carr, MD: Pediatric Pulmonology Fellow, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt
  • Sharon Dell, MD: Professor of Pediatrics, University of British Columbia. Head, Division of Respiratory Medicine.
  • Paul Moore, MD: Professor of Pediatrics and Pharmacology, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Director of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Pulmonary Medicine.
  • Terri Stillwell, MD: Clinical Associate Professor / Associate Hospital Epidemiologist. Clinical Service Chief, Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.
